For 2020 international light art biennale Evilichtungen (Hildesheim, Germany) I was asked to create an installation for the Godehardistollen. The Godehardistollen is an ancient collapsed tunnel underneath the old city wall of Hildesheim. One suspects that the tube was used to connect the nearby ponds with the monastery behind the wall. During World War 2, the “Bernwardsäule,” a Christian relict, was probably hidden there.
The Titel inversion refers to the anthroposophical concept of space/Body inversion (umstülpung). In astronomy and epistemology, inversion means the Transition to another Dimension or to Turn the innermost outside to perceive the world fully.
